Cranmore retains the Henkes Shield for 7th year in a row! The annual Henkes Shield football competition v Rokeby Prep School is always a much anticipated fixture for both schools. Lower Preps enjoyed a wonderful trip to Nower Wood, run by Surrey Wildlife Trust, on a ‘Badger’s Day Out’. With many activities including a blindfold trail to imagine being a nocturnal animal, pond dipping, a mini-beast hunt and looking at all the pond life in fantastic detail under the video microscope, the trip was voted a great success.

We entered 4 crews in the Monkton Bluefriars Head of the river at Saltford, near Bath. It was the first time we have had a mixed composite J13 crew racing and they won the junior category. We also had the J12 and J11 quadruple scull crews racing in their first event of the year. Well…

A wonderful assembly from our junior department pupils to their grandparents. The children were most impressive and clearly made their grandparents very proud. There was a lot of work during the week to prepare the children and it certainly paid off with such a special occasion.

Form 4 threw themselves into the team building challenges at Hindleap Warren with great gusto.
