A challenge was set to launch the annual Book Week and ‘Bake a Cake based on a Book’ competition started off proceedings deliciously. The imagination and effort that went into these creations was truly outstanding. The sugar rush in the library was palpable when all cakes went on display and the judging was extremely difficult.
Every entrant was awarded a Supermerit and the winners from each year group received book tokens for the Book Fair.
Some of the fabulous cakes and biscuits produced by our ‘star bakers’ were then delivered to a local charity, Cherry Trees, which provides home from home short breaks for children and young people with a range of disabilities.
