Cranmore has some keen sailors in the school and for the last 3 years a team has competed in the IAPS Sailing Regatta held at Queen Mary Sailing Club every July. Our team won the team trophy in 2002, and finished 2nd in 2003. This is a friendly event sailed mostly in Optimists and Toppers and it is arranged in such a way that it allows for very competitive racing amongst the more able sailors, whilst encouraging and teaching those who have less experience.
In addition to canoeing which is taught during the P.G.L. Adventure Holiday the school fields teams and enters competitions in Rowing and Sailing. The Rowing takes place at Walton Rowing Club twice a week and teams regularly compete against both school and club opposition.
Many of the boys sail with their own families and we are able therefore, to enter IAPS regattas during the summer months.
