Rowing

We are one of the very few prep schools to offer boys the opportunity to row, either as a main sport or as an extra-curricular activity. We use our own fully-equipped fitness room with 6 ergometers as well as a sculling boat in the swimming pool for training on site. Most of the training, however, takes place at Walton- on-Thames where the club shares a boathouse and facilities with Walton Rowing Club giving us access to a fleet of over 40 boats in addition to the school's own fleet of 6 boats.

Boys may start rowing in Form 3 (Year 5) and by the time they reach the 5th and 6th Forms (Years 7 & 8) are competing at local regattas. Highlights of the rowing year include the summer holiday rowing course, an annual trip to Belgium competing in the Ghent International Junior Regatta and our end of year trip and picnic at Henley Royal Regatta. Many boys who started rowing at Cranmore have continued after leaving the school and gone on to National and International success.
