Cranmore Pupils

Extra Curricular | Ski Club

Cranmore Ski Club was founded in 1977 with a few boys who wanted to ski more than just once a year on holiday. It is a club for all ages and abilities and meets every Monday evening throughout the year at Sandown Park Esher.

Junior boys ski from 4pm-5pm with Seniors between 5pm and 7pm. Boys follow the Snowlife award system and racing experience is gained through the Grand Prix series of races.

There are Barbeques throughout the season, and a party is held at Christmas. At the end of the summer term there is a prize giving to recognise achievements.

Other club activities include a trip to the Snow Dome or Zone, a friendly slalom race against other schools and an annual ski holiday to the French Alps.

Racing plays a very important part in the Clubs calendar, and in 2002 /3 the U12 team won the English Schools [dry slope] Championship and the U14 team were winners of the S.A.T.I.P.S. [Prep School] Championship.

As a result of from these events, boys are then selected for training with the English Schools Ski Squad in Italy.
