ROADWORKS OUTSIDE CRANMORE SCHOOL

We have been advised by the West Surrey Highways Dept that the current roadworks taking place on the A246 will have an impact on the school traffic at the beginning of term as follows:

·        The project is running a week behind schedule and the section which most affects us is now scheduled to commence on Wednesday 27th August starting at the Bell & Colvill roundabout and working towards St Mary's Church.

·        The plan is to spend the first eight days stripping the top surface; they ought to have passed our entrance within the first 3 days.

·        But from Monday 8th September (the third day of term) they are scheduled to start to do the resurfacing, and this is expected to take about three days

·        There will be a 30mph speed limit leading into the road works with a 10mph speed limit running through the works,

As you can imagine their timetable is outside our control.  We are in regular contact with West Surrey Highways dept and are trying our best to minimise the inconvenience to the School Community and will keep you posted of any developments.

We would be very grateful if could you please factor the above into journey planning at the start of term.  Thank you in advance for your patience.
