Progress Department
Learning Support is provided by the Progress Department which has a strong team of specialist trained teachers. The school regularly monitors progress in reading and spelling, enabling us to identify children who may be having a difficulty or whose progress has stalled. We have a strong emphasis on the early identification of boys with dyslexic tendencies, dyspraxia and speech and language difficulties.
Boys receiving support have the opportunity of an in-school specialist teacher assessment with verbal feedback to parents. Progress staff identify specific targets for support, working closely with all teachers. In the Junior Department, small group support is available from the Middle Prep (Year 1) onwards, in both reading and spelling. In the Senior Department, individual support is provided for broader literacy needs, maths and general study skills.
