Senior Department Homework
Homework forms an integral part of the programme of study offered at Cranmore. Most importantly, it provides a vital link between the parent and the school.
When parents take an interest in their child's homework, it enables the child to see that both school and home have the same objectives. It also provides parents with a valuable insight as to what is being studied in the classroom.
We do not have an official evening supervised prep session, but boys waiting in Senior Department late class may start their prep.
2nd Forms Two preps of approximately 20 minutes duration will be set on three nights of the week. On the other two nights one subject will be set. Boys are also expected to read for 15 minutes a night. Some boys may need to continue reading to an adult.
3rd Forms: Two subjects will be set on four nights a week, and on the other night three subjects will be set. Each subject is approximately 30 minutes. Boys are also expected to read for 15 minutes a night. Some boys may need to continue reading to an adult.
4M and 4Mo: Two subjects will be set on three nights of the week and three subjects will be set on the other two nights. Each subject is approximately 30 minutes. Boys are also expected to read for 15 minutes a night. Some boys may need to continue reading to an adult.
4P: Three subjects will be set on three nights of the week and two subjects will be set on the other two nights. Each subject is approximately 30 minutes. Boys are also expected to read for 15 minutes a night. Some boys may need to continue reading to an adult.
5C and 5D: Two subjects will be set on three nights of the week and three subjects will be set on the other two nights. Each subject is approximately 30 minutes. Reading is not included on the homework schedule but boys are expected to continue regular personal reading

All boys are provided with a homework diary, which is checked regularly by the form teacher.
