French

All pupils are taught by specialist subject teachers. Lessons are lively and conducted in French wherever possible so pupils become confident speakers. An integral part of the curriculum leading towards Common Entrance and Scholarship exams is for pupils to develop an appreciation of French culture and learn about French-speaking countries around the world.

An annual exchange gives pupils at the upper end of the school the opportunity to visit France and experience the French way of life. In addition our pupils develop their enthusiasm for languages through a combination of language clubs, competitions and taster courses in other languages.
