Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) at Cranmore includes the Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception, for children age from 2½ to 5 years. Supporting the EYFS curriculum of literacy, maths, understanding the world and art & design; our aim is to provide a well-balanced day with periods of Forest School, indoor and outdoor play, learning and activities. In Cranmore Nursery, each child has a special adult (Key Family Person) who records and shares with parents individual achievement and developmental activities.
Reception (Lower Prep) is a child’s first exciting ‘Big School’ year. In our safe, caring and stimulating environment we work closely with each child, building strong relationships to ensure a positive learning experience. Each class is taught by a teacher with support of a teaching assistant, providing a good ratio of staff to pupils. From swimming and gymnastics to music and RE, as well as the core subjects, learning is based on a wide range of experiences to install confidence and encourage children to become motivated readers, writers, problem-solvers, artists and explorers.
